Strawberry Days & Fathers Day!

This past week has been so eventful because it was Pleasant Groves Strawberry Days! I was looking forward to the events, Alex had told me all about it each summer that I was away. I now understand why he likes it so much. It starts on a Monday night and goes all the way until Saturday, with a different event each night. There is a carnival, craft boutiques, parade, a 5K race and a rodeo. Friday night we went to the rodeo, and for those of you who are like me and had only been to one once and didn't really understand it, this one is so much better! I was fully entertained during the whole show. They did several things like-letting tons of kids chase a cow that had money stuck on it, bull riding-I was shocked they rode bulls(scary), there was a motor cross show where they jumped insanely high in the air, and wild cow milking-craziest thing I've seen. We went with our friends the Potter's and the Talbot's. We had a lot of fun with them- Debbie & Gary just found out that they are pregnant! We are so excited for them!

The different events..kids chasing the cow, a bucking horse, bull riding and motor cross show.

Hanging out at the Rodeo, ha nice angle for a picture-promise we aren't that huge
The Potter's, The Talbot's and us

*Then on Saturday morning we went and watched the parade! It was a lot of fun! We had originally planned to run the 5K that morning but later realized it wasn't going to work out this time. But we are for sure going to run the next one very soon. Anyway back to the parade...my brother in law Steven, is a firemen and was in the parade too. It was fun to see all the different floats and just hang out.
The first float in this picture is an actual camera recording us on that TV screen!
Alex's brother in the parade-he is behind the guy in the middle

*Then on Sunday we went up to Layton to celebrate Father's day with my cute dad! He was hilarious...when we showed up he was wearing a cowboy hat, cowboy boots and singing a country song. Haha my dad is very funny! He really is the sweetest person, and cares so much about his family! He is always there to offer great advice, he is so intelligent and fun to be around. I love him! Happy Fathers Day dad!
